Celebrating 40 years

Three life-changing opportunities to experience Zambia.

1) Live. Learn. Link.

Thursday 19 April – Thursday 3 May

A group of 30 lay and ordained people of different backgrounds, stages of ministry, ages and from both urban and rural parishes to travel to Zambia to learn and experience what it means to live and tell the story of Jesus in a very different culture.

As well as celebrating the 40th anniversary, the experience is intended to help bridge the culture gap between the church and community back home and inspire a groundswell of active engagement to re-energise the Bath Wells-Zambia link.

2) Young Adult Exchange

A group of up to 10 young adults aged 18-24 will travel to Zambia in the summer then host their Zambia guests here in the UK the following month.  The exchange will focus on exploring a Jesus-shaped life, as we seek to live and tell the story of Jesus in our own cultures, lives, homes, churches and communities.

The aim is to identify common ground and some of the challenges affecting all of the young people and how this might help shape the future for young Christians in both nations, giving the exchange life beyond the initial time spent together. There will also be time to experience each other’s cultures and communities.

4–13 July 2018: Bath and Wells group to visit Zambia.

6-15 August 2018: Zambian group to visit to Bath and Wells.

3. Link Parish Visit

Thursday 19 April – Thursday 3 May (approximately)

To join in these celebrations, a number of people will be visiting their link parishes in Zambia, culminating in the celebrations in Lusaka on 29th April. We have been invited by Fr Edwin Zulu to visit his parish, and Jane & Martin Canning are planning to lead a group.
